With many vying to be the King of Dancehall comes a fresh debate, who is the queen of the genre? Jada Kingdom seems to think the throne is hers as she said through a series of tweets, one of which states she’s Jamaica’s ‘baddest female recording artistes’.

Spice and Shenseea are names that instantly ring a bell as well for the top title, even though little mention is made of 90’s Queens like Patra and Tanya Stephens.

Jada Kingdom is hoping to put them all in her shade come 2020.

Jada may have made the comments following her feud with the ever popular Shenseea. Earlier this month she directed a scathing diss song, called ‘Shen Heng’.
The track came a day after Shenseea’s own diss track which was aimed at Jada during the Red Bull Culture Clash at the National Arena in Kingston. Shenseea said: “Tell dutty Jada Condom fi stop call up mi name, Jada yuh h*le big, banana too small.” Jada’s ‘Shen Heng’ got over 900, 000 views so far.

She may have those intentions but it seems fans didn’t quite like her claims and felt she was not ready to claim such a title. One fan tweeted “Like baddest musically or just cause u look good? Cause only one is facts lol.” Another fan Tweeted: “Baddest but not Talented though…. @originalkoffee is miles ahead and a million time better than you.”

She did get some support in her claims from some of dancehall’s better known artists like Tripple X who said : “Inna dancehall yuh affi have da ego deh, da confidence deh, and it nuh just go fi di man dem. Di female dem affi have da level a confidence deh too. And yuh affi remember say her arch-nemesis a vie fi a top spot inna dancehall too, so she affi go off di spotlight too and represent. She can’t gwaan like she coward, worse she have the buzz around her now.”

Jada might just be just building some buzz to eventually take a real swipe at the thrown as she also recently called out Hip Hop artist Young Ma because she called her fans the “MABsters”. Apparently Jada had recently named her fanbase the Kingdom Mab. Jada may have a long way to go before she ascends to the throne as there are still many hit making female artistes who are consistently producing top tracks.
