Keznamdi

Keznamdi McDonald, known professionally as Keznamdi, is a Kingston-born Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist whose music blends roots reggae, contemporary dancehall, hip-hop, and soul. Raised in a musical household as the son of the lead singers of the international reggae group Chakula, he was immersed in performance and recording from an early age, even recording his first song as a child. His early life was shaped by a wide-ranging upbringing across Jamaica, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, which helped form the global outlook and socially conscious perspective that define his work. He made his solo debut in 2013 with the independent EP Bridging the Gap, which helped establish him as a distinctive voice in the reggae revival movement.
