Konshens Calls Out Rvssian Over Money Dispute: ‘I Was Always A Brother To You’

Dancehall star Konshens publicly called out producer Rvssian on Monday, accusing him of mishandling a financial dispute and spreading a misleading account of their fallout.
In an Instagram post accompanied by a photo of himself at what appears to be an airport lounge, Konshens alleged that Rvssian, whose real name is Tarik Johnston, owed him money and failed to resolve the matter in good faith.
“RUSSIAN jus know seh di people weh u a tell OUR business dont like neither me nor you zeen… an memba seh a you guh fuck up, a neva me, i was always nuttn but a bredda to you no matter what nobody seh with nuttn behind it an u know dat to. The Bruk Off Yuh Back deejay revealed that although he threatened legal action over the alleged debt, the dispute was settled privately without going to court. He criticized Rvssian for allegedly telling others that he had filed a lawsuit, which he denied doing.
“Unfollow is cool but stop tell people bout mi tek u to court because i did not!! Mi threaten you and we settled,” he said. “If i took u to court it wouldn’t mek sense with all the people that would be dragged in fi chump change and a really a point me did wah prove to you as a fren an u still miss the point cah u only can see $$$.”
Konshens added: “Stop tell people seh mi get up one day an sue you fi no reason like me a mad man. Rvssian has not yet responded publicly to the accusations.
Konshens and Rvssian have worked together on several hits over the years. Among their most notable collaborations are Pull Up To Mi Bumper with J Capri, Hard Drive with Shenseea, Pay For It with Spice, Big Belly with Rick Ross, Best NaNa with Shenseea and King Kosa.
Rvssian, known for his Head Concussion Records and Rich Immigrants labels, also tapped Konshens for the Latin crossover hit Privado, which also featured Nicky Jam, Farruko, and Arcangel. The track, released in 2018, has racked up almost 300 million views on YouTube and is currently certified six times Latin Platinum in the US.
