A video of a senior Tiktokker, maddiemichelle1, deejaying along to Alkaline’s 2018 single Juggernaut has gone viral, racking up more than 1.5 million views in just four days.

The video is making the rounds on the third anniversary of the release of the Champion Boy’s music video for Juggernaut, which was officially made available for streaming on November 9, 2018.

Just the image of the senior rocking to the beat while riding the riddim of the timeless track has left fans of the Vendetta Boss in a frenzy, with new names for the popular Jamaican including ‘Mumma Detta’.

“Right now mi feel like a she write di song and give Alkaline,” 1bigleague said, while another added: “A mus Alka mother”.

“Brrrp big vendetta fan yea momma same way so me like the vibes,” another follower said, while likklediva added: “I love this woman, unuh feel like a only young people know song”.

There were also numerous requests from foreign nationals, who fell in love with the track, for the name of the song and the singer, which means Alkaline is gaining more international fans.

In addition to the 1.5 million views, the rendition has scored 123,ooo likes and almost 4000 comments, outdoing the figures madimichelle1 had scored for her renditions of songs from Shenseea, Popcaan, Christopher Martin, Jada Kingdom and other stars.

Alkaline, whose given name is Earlan Bartley, had teamed up with producer Johnny Wonder and Adde Instrumentals to record Juggernaut, in which he also outlined that whatever pain and heartbreak he had suffered over the years, had made him a stronger and resilient artist and person.  He had also used the lyrics of Juggernaut to throw down the gauntlet to his musical foes, declaring unequivocally that where they were concerned, he would be an unstoppable force.

His musical detractors back then included Tommy Lee Sparta, Bounty Killer, and Popcaan.

At the time of its release, Juggernaut dominated the Dancehall scene, and within a few days was the most streamed Dancehall song on most major streaming platforms. On Alkaline’s official YouTube channel, the official music video for the single has racked up 15 million views, while the lyric video has scored 14 million.

The deejay, who quit his journalism studies at the University of the West Indies to do Dancehall full-time, had told The Jamaica Observer in a 2013 interview, that while scoring chart-toppers was high on his agenda, earning a degree was a way of “appeasing his mother” who believes in a sound education and having something to “fall back on”.

The Ocean Wave artist, who turns 28 on December 19, had also described himself as an enigmatic man, and his sound as “Dancehall meets urban pop rock culture.”

“I don’t want to be a normal artiste. This is dancehall, you want to make people act and react…You must make a difference,” he had said.”

Alkaline recently released a new single Barebackthe lyrics of which, he pointed out in a TikTok video, were in contrast with his 2016 single Company.
