Reggae artiste JahDore has been cleared in a court case stemming from a 2019 confrontation at the Gordon Town Police Station in St Andrew.

The singer, whose real name is Sean McDonald, was found not guilty on Friday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court. He had faced charges of assault, obstructing the police and malicious destruction of property.

The charges arose from allegations that he assaulted a policeman and tore the officer’s shirt during an altercation at the station, after his children and their mother were detained.

The incident followed a police visit to his home to investigate allegations that he had failed to ensure his two stepsons attended school.
