Jada Kingdom

Jada Kingdom is the stage name of Jada Ashanti Murphy, a Jamaican dancehall and R&B singer, songwriter, and model from Kingston, Jamaica. She began gaining attention as a swimsuit model on Instagram before moving into music in 2017, when her debut single “Love Situations” introduced her melodic, confessional style. Her sound blends dancehall with R&B, reggae, and jazz influences, and she is often associated with an “island emo” aesthetic that emphasizes vulnerability, resilience, and self-possession. Kingdom’s stage name reflects her view of her body as her “kingdom,” a personal statement that shaped both her branding and her artistic identity. She became widely known through viral songs such as “Banana” and later releases including “Heavy,” “GPP,” and collaborative work that broadened her international profile. A distinctive voice in contemporary Jamaican music, she is recognized for pairing catchy hooks with emotionally direct songwriting and a strong visual identity.
