Chronixx, born Jamar Rolando McNaughton, is a Jamaican reggae artist from Spanish Town, Jamaica, and one of the leading voices of the Reggae Revival movement. Raised in a musical household as the son of singer Chronicle, he began writing songs at an early age, recorded his first track in 2003, and later developed his skills as a singer, songwriter, and producer within Jamaica’s roots and dancehall scene. He first drew wider attention with projects such as the Hooked on Chronixx EP and the acclaimed Dread & Terrible EP, which helped establish his international reputation. His 2017 debut album, Chronology, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album and confirmed his status as a major contemporary reggae artist. Known for conscious lyrics, melodic phrasing, and a sound that bridges classic roots reggae with modern influences, Chronixx has collaborated with artists across Jamaica and beyond while remaining closely identified with socially aware, culturally rooted music.
