The most quietly moving detail about Spragga Benz’s newly expanded album isn’t the Sean Paul feature or the Stonebwoy collab.
It’s the inclusion of the late Cocoa Tea, whose contribution to Endeavors Reloaded makes the project feel like something more than a simple deluxe rollout.
Spragga Benz, born Carlton Grant, released the 13-track Endeavors Reloaded late last month through LMR Pro Productions and Red Square Productions.
The expanded edition builds on his 2025 album Endeavors, adding fresh collaborations with Sean Paul, Stonebwoy, Agent Sasco, Tarrus Riley, Sizzla, I-Wayne, JC Lodge, and the late reggae crooner Cocoa Tea.
Speaking to the Jamaica Observer, Spragga explained why the original album went out without some of these names attached. “The original album was released with more of a focus on getting the record out within a certain time frame, which meant moving forward without certain guests who matched the vision,” he said. He added that time allowed everyone originally envisioned for the project to finally make their contributions, effectively polishing what was already a chart-topping iTunes release.
That original version clearly had momentum behind it before the reloaded edition even arrived. The fact that it performed well on iTunes without the heavyweight features says something about where Spragga Benz stands as a solo artist right now, still capable of cutting through without leaning on big names to carry the weight.
The project is co-produced by Lamar Reynolds, a Jamaican producer based in the United States who built his reputation largely through his work on Kranium’s widely streamed hit Nobody Has to Know.
Spragga described the working relationship warmly, calling Reynolds family and pointing to the chemistry between them as a key part of what makes the expanded record feel cohesive rather than patched together.
Having Sizzla and Tarrus Riley on the same project as Sean Paul and Stonebwoy is an interesting curatorial choice, pulling from different corners of the reggae and dancehall spectrum without the lineup feeling forced.
Agent Sasco’s presence adds another layer, given his reputation as one of the sharper lyrical voices in the current dancehall space.
But Cocoa Tea’s inclusion is the one that lingers. The veteran singer passed away earlier this year, and hearing his voice on a new release from a peer like Spragga Benz carries a weight that no press release can fully capture.
It turns one of the album’s tracks into something of a tribute, even if that wasn’t the original framing when the collaboration was recorded.
Endeavors Reloaded is executively produced by Spragga Benz himself, which signals how much creative control he wanted to keep over the direction of the project.
For an artist with decades in the game, that kind of ownership over the final product matters, and the decision to wait for the right contributors rather than rush substitutes shows a patience that not every veteran bothers with.
The conversations around the album are still picking up steam, and with a feature list this deep across generations of Caribbean music, the streaming numbers over the coming weeks will be telling.
