DancehallMag is the leading independent publication covering Dancehall and Reggae music, the artists, and culture since 2019.

Spragga Benz spent ages hunting for Echo Minott, only to learn the dancehall veteran was living in France with no address on file. Then the two simply ran into each other on a flight, and the collaboration Spragga had been chasing finally fell into place.

That chance meeting now lives on Endeavors Reloaded, the expanded edition of his 2025 album Endeavors, which he launched last Wednesday.

Echo Minott joins him on the opening track Mountain, a song Spragga told the launch crowd is about “overcoming the challenges in life.”

For Spragga, Reloaded isn’t a victory lap. It’s the version he pictured from the start. This album is one that I wanted to make originally, but time and schedule didn’t permit it,” he told The Sunday Gleaner, adding that he “couldn’t get some of the artistes who mi did really want.

The original Endeavors came together almost by accident. Spragga was booked for a concert at UBS Arena, but “some little discrepancies” meant he never got to perform, so he left the venue angry and went to check a friend at the studio.

“We end up staying at the studio for the weekend, from Saturday to about the Tuesday, and did about 40 songs,” he said, laughing about it now.

They cut that pile down to around 13, but the features he wanted weren’t available because “people deh pon tour and people nuh inna the mood fi voice right now.”

He released it anyway in August 2025, and it climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Reggae Albums Chart, with Mountain also showing up on international iTunes charts.

The missing voices stayed on his mind, though, and once he turned his attention back to the project, Reloaded took roughly six months to finish.

The guest list is long. Sean Paul, Sizzla, Agent Sasco, Tarrus Riley, Stonebwoy, Bugle, I-Wayne, JC Lodge, G Dep, Bittah Sosicka, Briggy Benz and Ashley Skerritt all appear, along with the late Cocoa Tea on the single That Drone.

Rounding everyone up was its own saga. Spragga couldn’t find a number for I-Wayne, Bugle “did deh pon a move” when first approached, and by the time he reached Tarrus Riley it was 10 o’clock with Tarrus due to catch a flight at 12.

Sizzla is a fan of the finished record, telling The Sunday Gleaner that “Endeavors Reloaded is a beautiful album.”

Spragga was just as warm about Echo Minott, calling him “one of the innovators” and saying he sang songs that are landmarks “inna dancehall that people probably not even realise.

There is a catch for anyone hoping to see the album in the Grammy conversation. Asked about a submission, Spragga smiled and said “No, it’s not eligible,” explaining that the original came out last year and the new edition is “just additions to the existing album.”

He doesn’t seem bothered. His next project, Spragga Benz: From ’93, is already on the way, and he’s confident about it, saying “I know fans are going to love it.”
