Just as summer waves its final goodbyes, Jamaica’s entertainment calendar is saving its biggest flex for last. Midas Entertainment is closing out 2026 with not one, but two Plantation Cove spectacles — August 29 and 30 — and the tag-team arrives with a heavyweight seal of approval: both events are now officially endorsed lead-ups to the legendary Dream Weekend 2027.
It’s a full-circle moment for the island’s scene. The endorsement locks both shows into Dream Weekend’s promotional cycle while cementing Midas’ growing heavyweight status on Jamaica’s calendar — a culture play built for local fans, the diaspora and international visitors alike.
Dream Entertainment’s Scott Dunn was all in: “We are pleased to welcome Midas Entertainment’s events as endorsed lead-up experiences to Dream Weekend 2027. Sophisticated and ENCORE LIVE: Culture Rising each bring a strong and distinctive energy to the entertainment calendar, and we are all for it.”
The series leads the charge for summer’s high-energy climax with Saturday, Aug 29 — Sophisticated: The Summer End Beach Party. Glam meets grit as ‘Sophisticated’ transforms Plantation Cove into a beachside lifestyle experience blending dancehall, fashion and social culture. Headliner Vanessa Bling leads the charge, with sets from Trippple X, Bishop Escobar and Illusion Sound. Doors open 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, kicking off with a hosted drinks segment from 4:00 to 7:00.
Then the tempo flips for a masterclass in live sound with ‘ENCORE LIVE: Culture Rising’ which centers the microphone, headlined by reggae and dancehall vet Capleton, joined by Nesbeth and legendary saxophonist Dean Fraser, with musical support from DJ Delano (Renaissance) and Bass Odyssey.

For Stefan Ebanks, Midas’ Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, the nod says it all: “This endorsement reflects our ongoing growth as event curators… it shows the value of creating events that connect audiences at home and abroad while contributing to Jamaica’s wider entertainment and tourism offering.”

Dunn doubled down on the bond: “This endorsement is most definitely an alignment between both brands… two very distinct cultural expressions that are uniquely Jamaican.”
