Davianah ‘Torn’ By Savage Death Of Her Cousin, Jabari, Jah Mason’s Son

Reggae fusion singer Davianah is mourning the loss of her 25 year-old cousin, Jabari Johnson, who was gunned down in an execution-style murder committed while he was streaming live on TikTok.

“R.I.P to a real ni–a. He showed me support and love and I’ll always remember him for that. Most people don’t even know that my family is related to Jah Mason, and we all are torn about the situation,” Davianah told DancehallMag.

Popular reggae stars Tony Rebel, real name Patrick Barrett, and Jah Mason, real name Andre Johnson, are cousins. Davianah is one of Tony Rebel’s daughters.

The deceased, Jabari ‘Badda Skeng’ Johnson, was shot dead during a live stream in the vicinity of a shop on Red Hills Road, yesterday.

The St Andrew North Police are probing the execution-style killing of a man.

Reports are that Johnson was live on TikTok, when he was approached by a hooded figure who shot Johnson in the back of his head. The murder took place in the vicinity of Queenie’s Snack Shop on Red Hills Road in St Andrew.

The left-handed man, decked in black, and wearing a mask, shot Johnson twice at close range, and after Johnson fell to the ground, riddled the body with several shots. Then the attacker escaped.

Davianah recently re-emerged on the reggae scene, rocking a ‘reggae empress’ vibe. She was one of the artistes on Rootsman Skankin, the free concert held at Greenvale Avenue in St Andrew to celebrate what would have been the 78th birthday of iconic reggae singer Neville ‘Bunny Wailer’ Livingston.

Her performance of Bunny Wailer’s roots rocking love song, Ballroom Floor, was one of the highlights of the evening.

Last year, Davianah released a racy EP dubbed ‘F Season’. She plans to shoot a number of videos for collaborations with N’Hance and Jahshii.

“I am now in the island putting in the work, I have several collabs which I will be promoting incluDing one with Bugle,” she said.

Davianah’s latest track, Phase One, which is produced by Bvrbon Music on her own imprint, Davianah Music label, was released last week.
