Sean Paul attends the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Dancehall superstar Sean Paul has earned two nominations in the 2024 Latin American Music Awards.

The Temperature artist, 51, copped a nod in the ‘Best Crossover Artist’ category, alongside Adam Levine, David Guetta, DJ Khaled, Drake, Marshmello, Rema, and Usher.

Niña Bonita, his collaboration with Columbian singer Feid, was also nominated in the ‘Collaboration Crossover of The Year’ category. The other songs nominated are Dientes by J Balvin, Usher, and DJ Khaled; El Merengue by Marshmello and Manuel Turizo; Ojala by The Rudeboyz, Maluma and Adam Levine; and Vocation by Ozuna and David Guetta.

“It feels good,” Paul told DancehallMag on Wednesday. “A lot of times you do somethings outside the norm and you not sure where it will lead you but you just have faith and step.”

“Me working within the Latin genre is something I’ve done from the early stage of my career. I remember the early days going to NY and it was evident I had a strong Latin crowd and I did over a song Punkie in Spanish and from there my fan base in that market started to grow,” he added.

“I’m always looking to diversify my fan base and to receive this acknowledgement is a great feeling, Hard work really pays off.”

In August 2023, Niña Bonita topped the Billboard Latin Airplay Chart, Sean Paul’s first song to do so in six years. Previously, he accomplished that feat with his 2017 collaboration with Enrique Iglesias, Súbeme La Radio (Turn Up The Radio).

The 2024 nominations, according to a Univision release, are based on fan interactions across streaming, sales, radio airplay, touring, and social media interaction data provided by Billboard and Luminate during the eligibility period (Feb. 11, 2023 to Feb. 24, 2024).

Fans have until April 1 to vote for their favorite artists here.

This year’s awards ceremony will celebrate the theme “We Speak Música” and will air live at 7 pm ET on Thursday, April 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas via Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavision and ViX.

Mexican singer Peso Pluma and Feid pulled in the most nominations with 12 apiece, followed by Bad Bunny and Grupo Frontera with 11 nominations each.

Shakira and Karol G follow closely behind with nine nods of their own.

Sean Paul was nominated last year for his first-ever Billboard Latin Music Award in the Crossover Artist of the Year category, but the award went to Marshmello.
