Dancehall artist Ishawna had a fun-filled weekend after performing alongside American rapper Lil Nas X during a karaoke session backstage at Ed Sheeran’s ongoing Mathematics tour in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The Slippery When Wet singer shared footage from Saturday night of the rendition of Britney Spears’ …Baby One More Time, as the rapper danced along, and a handful of people looked on.

“New bestie alert 😍💕 @lilnasx Karaoke lastnight was too much fun 😂 #GoodVibesOnly #Ishawna #LilNasX,” she wrote.

To spice up the performance, Ishawna cheekily remarked, “Nas, you know you want me,” which evoked laughter across the venue.

Nas, on the other hand, tried his vocals to see Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits.

The two artists also took a couple of selfies which cemented their new best friend status.

The pair attracted attention from hundreds of Instagram users who were proud to see the Equal Rights singer expand her international network.

“Yes ishy nuff more links international stars, I love it!,” one adoring fan commented.

“Look how nas look like him inlove how u can not love her @mslegendary we love u,” another user said.

One more chimed in: “Ishawna she’s living like a Princess ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ ..This was the fun side of Mslegendary.”

It was only a few weeks ago that the official music video for Brace It made its way to streaming platforms.

The Filmheads Studios-directed music video plays up the long-distance trope between Ishawna and Sheeran, creating a simple yet visually stunning piece anchored by a mix of the archaic – phone booths, old-school tape recorders and a box TV – and the modern.

Brace It was released on June 24, 2022, under Ishawna’s Legendary Records, and was produced by herself, Cordel ‘Skatta’ Burrell and Donavan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett.

Ishawna first teased the song back in 2021 following news that Sheeran had been gushing about her remix of his hit single, Shape Of You

So far, the music video has amassed over 282,000 views on YouTube.
