English-Albanian singer Dua Lipa escaped the chilly British weather to catch some sun in Jamaica earlier this month. She vacationed at the exclusive Goldeneye resort in Oracabessa Bay in St. Mary and visited several other spots across the island, including a nighttime board game with Popcaan.

The Grammy-winning singer recently posted several sun-kissed photos on Instagram, showing off her “All calm and stress freeee” trip and many excursions, including bamboo rafting (herself) on the river, trips to the beach, and taking in the local cuisine.

“Oh my gosh, what an experience it was,” the No Lie singer wrote about her Jamaican vacay in an issue of Service95.

“After a very hectic start to the year, I was keen to take some time out and was lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks at Golden Eye Hotel in Jamaica this month,” she revealed.

“Taking walks along its icing-sugar-sand beaches with lush mountains in the distance, reggae playing wherever I went, and tasting those delicious Caribbean flavours – not to mention the rum cocktails – I truly feel revitalised and ready to take on what the rest of the year has to offer.”

The 26-year-old singer also mentioned that her favorite spots were among Jakes Treasure Beach Hotel, Kingston Dub Club, Boston Jerk Centre, Scotchies, and the Bob Marley Museum, and recommended that her fans take the time to visit if they were ever so lucky to end up in Jamaica.

“Jakes Treasure Beach Hotel – book into a beachfront bungalow for a laid-back slice of paradise,” she said for the most indulgent experience. “Kingston Dub Club – visit on a Sunday for weekly reggae sessions in the hills above Kingston,” and for Boston Jerk Centre, she dubbed it “the original jerk spot in Port Antonio”.

Lipa added, “Scotchies – because you can never have enough jerk – a must-visit in Montego Bay,” while Bob Marley Museum was “an unmissable experience on the site of the legendary musician’s home.”

The trip may not have been all fun and relaxation, as Dua told one fan that she’s finishing up her third studio album.

In one of the photos shared by the singer, Popcaan, identifiable by his 876 chain and jewelry, is seen among a group of people enjoying a board game.

Popcaan has collaborated with a number of international female singers and rappers, including Amber Mark, Megan Thee Stallion, Melissa Steel, AlunaGeorge and Jorja Smith.

Jamaicans may best know Dua Lipa for her double platinum-selling single No Lie with local superstar Sean Paul.

In February 2022, No Lie was issued the BRIT Certified Multi-Platinum (2x) award after it sold more than 1,200,000 copies in the UK as measured by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

In April that same year, the song’s music video-directed by Tim Nackashi surpassed the one billion views milestone on YouTube, five years after its release.

Dua’s self-titled debut album, released in 2017, peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 3 on the UK Albums chart.   It’s currently certified Platinum in the US, and 3X Platinum in the UK.

Her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia, released in 2020, peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, and No. 1 on the UK Albums chart.  It’s currently certified Platinum in the US, and 2X Platinum in the UK.
