Cabel Stephenson, the former manager of the late Toots Hibbert, survived a serious car accident in the Harbour View area of Kingston last night.

Reports are that a car, heading towards Kingston from Harbour View jumped the median and careened into the car that Stephenson was driving, which was headed in the opposite direction.

Stephenson’s car, a 2016 Toyota Altis, was totaled during the accident.

“The car came out of nowhere and hit my side of the car, all the airbags dem fly,” a thankful Stephenson told DancehallMag

The driver of the other car and another male passenger, fled the scene of the accident, leaving behind three young girls in the car.

Police were quickly on the scene and took the three girls into custody.

“I am just glad to be alive because anything could have happened in an accident like that,” Stephenson said.

Stephenson, who is a successful booking agent, acted as Toots Hibbert’s business manager for several years before the singer’s death two years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic.
