Mankind singer Silk Boss has shed light on the viral video, in which he was slapped and beaten by two masked men, who recorded the assault.

Speaking with his ex-manager and producer Terro Don, the singer revealed that he was sabotaged and robbed by the men, who he referred to as “friends”.  The men allegedly robbed him of J$1.4 million, which he intended to use to purchase a car last month.

“Dawg yuh know say a robbery gwan dawg. Mi ah save fi buy mi car, ah mi owna fren dem — the video weh you see a gwan (viral video) — ah mi owna frend dem bro,” Silk Boss told Terro Don.

The deejay identified the men as the ones he referred to as “Gulfside” in a recent song.

“Ah me and dem a par. Down to di stage show, down to weh day when mi do the song and mi ah say, “Yo Gulfside ah weh do dem likkle boy yah,’ and you hear mi call few man name, ah dem same man deh in a di video rob mi bro … Yeah rob dem rob mi. Dem rob mi the money wah mi go use buy mi car bro.”

Silk Boss said he had secured JA $1.4 million while working in Canada a few weeks ago. Upon returning to Jamaica, decided he’d put the money towards purchasing BMW as opposed to a Mark X that he previously considered.

“Mi go Canada and put in the work and come back with a piece a portions of a food. And mi say, ‘Aright mi go use ah piece a dis ah food yah and buy a whip’ … and same time mi see wah Bimma dawg and mi say, ‘Ah dis yah 5-series mi a go buy’.”

On the day he was to purchase the car, he called one of his friends from his crew to let him know that he would be getting the BMW instead with the extra JA$1.4 million he had earned.

“So the day when mi go fi buy di car, mi link one a dem dawg cause a mi G. Mi link di dawg and mi say ‘Yo bro hear wah now nuh, mi come fi di money enuh dawg cah mi a go buy di Bimma,” he said.

The deejay identified this particular friend as the one who organized the attack and robbery. “Dis yah dawg weh mi call say mi come fi di money, ah him set up everything,” the deejay said.

In the leaked video, Silk Boss is seen backed up on a wall while two masked men slapped him several times in his face. The deejay could be heard saying, “Duh bro … please” pleading for them to stop.

In his interview with Terro Don, the Rocky Road artist said the men were armed and had threatened to kill him.

“In a di video dawg, dem back all gun pon mi enuh dawg. When you see me di deh and mi ah tell dem say, ‘Yo ray’ … Ah tell mi a tell dem say don’t shoot me cause the dawg di deh deh a say ‘Yo ah dead mi fi dead’ because mi di deh and mi have one heap a money and nah give di yute dem nuttn.”

“The whole preements weh dem a pree ah basically badmind bredda, di whole a dem badmind di artist bro gad. Dem see mi di deh live a certain life and see mi woman a live a certain life… so all a dis weh happen come off a badmind,” he further stated.

Silk Boss said the men kept the footage all this time and deliberately leaked it just as his music career was experiencing a high.

The Last Nation artist also revealed that the men also attacked his girlfriend Brii and her brother. “Down to mi woman dem disrespect to bredda. Dem shub down all mi baby mother a ground and some style dawg, but dem nah go post dem deh ting deh.”

Terro Don further inquired whether the attack had anything to do with fellow artist and rival Jahshii, who Silk Boss has been trading diss tracks with over the last few weeks.

“Nooo, Jahshii nuh have nuttn fi do with this bro, anybody call Jahshii name ah wicked bredda. Nuh true mi and him in a clash bro mean say mi ah come yah and paint ah image. Jashii nuh have nuttn fi do wid dis bredda!” he said. “No man dis nuh have nuttn fi do wid di clash … Ah my own fren dem weh mi par wid, ah dem! The same man dem weh mi feed and clothe, di whole ah dem!”

The deejay said he is still in disbelief that his own friends could have set him up in this way.

“Ah dem same one get badmind … Right now, it hard fi mi believe, cause mi ah wonder where it even come from cause mi deal wid every man good. So it mi a wonder weh all ah dis ah transpire from.”
