Dancehall star Govana is back on Jamaican soil and already in the studio working on an EP. The Up Front deejay, who left Jamaica to live in the States shortly after releasing Likkle Bit a Money in 2020, is proud of the work done thus far.

“Last year we had one of the biggest riddims in Dancehall, the 1Matik riddim with myself and CJ the Chemist which gave Skeng his breakout single, so we been doing it, and adding production as one of those things makes me feel proud to know we can do that-even though 90 percent of my singles from back then I produced, or have some form of production in it and that feels good,” the Spanish Town native revealed.

Govana’s two latest singles, Mannaz with Dancehall’s ‘top gyal’ Shaneil Muir, produced by his imprint Raheef Muzik Group, gives a cheeky take on a side chick and her lover, while his track Lizard and Lychee also produced by Raheef Muzik Group is another lyrically raunchy release.

On January 10, 2020, Govana’s debut album, Humans and Monsters are Not the Same (HAMANTS), debuted at number 2 on the on Reggae iTunes chart.
