“‘Time’ Is About Self-Defence, Not Violence,” Says Lusion

Starzplus recording artist Lusion wants to clear the air. There are some schools of thought who believe that his latest release, ‘Time’, is promoting violence, and that belief triggered a mixed reception online among dancehall fans.

Not so, Lusion counters. The ‘Time’ single, he says, is actually promoting self-defense.

“There are too many senseless killings going on right now, my song is simply about defending yourself if needs be. I am by no means going out there to look for any trouble with anyone,” the artist told DancehallMag.

Still, the artist’s perspective is colored by a recent arrest and a hellish period of incarceration in an overcrowded jail. He was never charged.

The deejay is not afraid to tackle hot-button issues and he often explores controversial trigger-pulling themes that mirror the violence of the Jamaican society.

“The songs I release take on some heavy topics, sometimes people may be a little uncomfortable with them just like with “Time” but I always try to keep it real. I want people to hear my music and be able to relate to the messages or at least feel what I’m talking about,” he stated.

Produced by Starzplus Music and featured on the Assignment Riddim, the track was officially released on June 24, 2022. “Time” is currently available for purchase and streaming on major digital platforms online.

“I’m very happy with the feedback that I have been receiving so far and I know that it can only get better from here,” the artist expressed.

Currently signed to Starzplus Music, Lusion uses his music to channel his innermost thoughts, creating tracks that provide insight on social issues that affect people every day. “Prior to the release of this track, Lusion has released songs such as Big Dreams, “Gunman, ”One Stop” and “Never Feel Like.”
