Ishawna, Ed Sheeran Tease New Song ‘Brace It’
Ishawna and British singer Ed Sheeran have made good on their word and are set to drop their collaboration this Friday, June 24.
Ed Sheeran announced the upcoming release of the single titled Brace It with a snippet of the audio today on Instagram, and expressed how much he enjoyed working with the Jamaican Dancehall star after he first learned of the singer through her Shape Of You cover.
“Me and @mslegendary made a tune after me being in love with her Equal Rights cover of Shape Of You,” he wrote in the caption. “I love her, and loved working with her, Brace It comes out on friday and I hope you love it too !x.”
Ishawna also shared the exciting news, tagging famed Dancehall producer Donovan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett, who presumably took up duties as producer of the new song. Corleon, who is best known for Dancehall riddims such as Drop Leaf, Junkanoo, Seasons, and Good To Go, has also previously produced for the likes of Rihanna, Usher, Migos, Keyshia Cole, Sean Paul, Vybz Kartel, and many more.

Sheeran was the most streamed artist in the UK in 2021, according to The Guardian—an honor he’s achieved in four out of the last five years. His most-streamed songs are Shape Of You (2017), Perfect (2017), Thinking Out Loud (2014), Photograph (2015), I Don’t Care (2019), Bad Habits (2021), and Beautiful People (2019).

Last November, Ishawna broke the news that she would be recording a new song with the British pop star. At the time she also revealed that she received clearance to re-release her Equal Rights remix of his hit song Shape of You.
Sheeran had revealed was a huge fan of the Instaboy singer after she remixed his 2017 release Shape of You. In an interview with Zeze Mills, Ed said he reached out to Ishawna to let her know he’d clear the remix track and from there the two began sharing ideas about new music.
For Ishawna’s fans, who haven’t heard any recent music from the singer for some time now, an international collab was just what they needed.

From the sound of the song’s teaser, many believe the upcoming single will be a big hit.
