Sean Paul Connects With Pia Mia For New Song And Video ‘This Is How We Do It’: Watch

Dancehall superstar Sean Paul has come through with another banger titled This Is How We Do It, a Pia Mia-assisted track about enjoying life.

Produced by the Canadian duo Banx & Ranx, Sean Paul rides the Dancehall-infused production with his usual smooth and slick flow, while Mia—an American multi-platinum artist and actress—counters with a very catchy chorus that notably includes a little patois.

“This new single ‘How We Do It’ is our way to show the listeners, how we dance, how we enjoy life, and how we stay fresh,” the Grammy Award-winning deejay said in a release. “Big up to Pia Mia, when we started recording this track we knew right away we wanted her on this single and she hit it out the park.”

The accompanying music video, which was directed by Briana Gonzales, was released today.  Watch it above.

Sean and Pia previously collaborated on the HOT (Remix) with Flo Milli, which was released in 2020.

Sean Paul also has a new song out today on Shenseea’s Alpha album, titled Lying If I Call It Love.

This Is How We Do It is the fourth single from Paul’s upcoming, eighth studio album dubbed Scorcha.  It will join the previously released title track Scorcha, Dynamite with Sia, and Only Fanz with Ty Dolla $ign.  Scorcha will also reportedly feature Gwen Stefani, Shenseea, Jada Kingdom, Stylo G and British singer-songwriter Raye.

According to Sean Paul, the album—which will be released under the auspices of Island Records—would take more of an international approach to making the riddims.  He added that the songs would still be Dancehall music, but would be “more suited for the palate” of his international audience.

Sean Paul also recently earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Reggae Album for his 7th studio album Live N Livin, which was released last year.

Last week, the deejay announced 2022 U.S. Scorcha tour dates that will include tracks from his 8th studio album.

The album is set to release later in the year.
