Sevana Makes Musical Comeback With ‘Brand New’

Jamaican songstress Sevana made a musical comeback with the premiere of the single Brand New, on the COLORSxSTUDIOS stage on Monday.

Brand New, produced by Kelsy Gonzalez of American R&B band Free Nationals, is complemented by Gonzalez’ delicate bassline and caressed by her own background vocals.

This is Sevana’s first release since she was charged for causing death by dangerous driving. Despite the ongoing matter, the Nobody Man singer promises fans a slew of new music, moving forward.

“I’m going to release one single every other month, or I’m going to try,” Sevana offered in an official release. “I’m going to challenge myself.”

The work has already begun, as the singer recently wrapped a performance for the Dubai EXPO, representing Jamaica alongside other local entertainers.

“It is always a joy to take the stage. It is especially fulfilling to be asked to represent my country with my art. I’m going to use that moment as the opening stage, the set-up for 2022,” she said.

Sevana now stands alongside COLORSxSTUDIOS alumni such as Nigerian pop star Rema, who burst on the scene with Dumebi, Alabama-born rap sensation Flo Milli who rocked the stage with Ice Baby, or Prince’s protege, Lianne La Havas.

In 2020, the 30-year-old whose given name is Anna Blake, released her second EP titled Be Somebody, featuring the successful single, Mango (4 million views on YouTube) and If Only You Knew.
