Shakka Dax, Of Charly Black’s Team Unstoppable, Dead At 26 After Car Crash

Emerging Dancehall entertainer Shakka Dax, a member of dancehall star Charly Black’s Team Unstoppable crew, died on Thursday after he sustained injuries in a car crash in Oracabessa, St Mary.

“He was a jovial person, nothing no matter him, he always wanted everyone to be happy. Him adjust o every situation, he always wants happiness, he was one of those people who never have a dull moment, he just loved his music, always have a high energy, he had a bright future ahead,” said producer Jermaine ‘Crawba Genius’ Henry, who produced the single Galina Scheme for Dax.

“One of the team members called me and said that Shakka Dax was dead. Kelly did text me already but mi never see it but ah the phone wake me. Me and him did talk in the day part and one of my deejay friends who was at the club, dem say ah the first dem see the man happy so. Ah just one of those sad bitter moments,” he said.

The 26-year-old Dax was known for singles including Chap Di Food, Galina Scheme, Nah Let Go, Papa P, Oven (produced by Arif Cooper), and Make it out Yah, which was produced by Charly Black’s Team Unstoppable.

Reports are that a minibus collided with a Toyota motor car in which Dax, whose real name is Jomarie Jones, was travelling in along the Oracabessa main road a few minutes after 3 a.m on Thursday. Firefighters had to free him from the hunk of twisted metal as Dax was trapped in the wreckage for several minutes.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital while four other persons were reportedly injured.

Fans posted crying emojis online to mark his death, and expressed their condolences to his friends and family.

One social media user, Kirkland Kelly posted: “Walk good mi bredda #shakkadax #pappap.”
