Veteran Dancehall artist Charlie Chaplin is getting ready to face the music as his trial on malicious destruction of property charge will begin on June 13.

According to an article in the STAR newspaper, last week,  Charlie Chaplin’s attorney, Indera Padmore, told Senior Parish Judge Lori-Ann Cole-Montague that they have received full disclosure, including the video footage. This paves the way for the trial to begin.

Charlie Chaplin, given name Dr Richard Bennett, is alleged to have caused damage to the complainant’s motor vehicle after he reportedly intervened in a dispute between his daughter and one of her neighbours at her apartment complex in the Corporate Area.

He has denied the allegation.

The case was first mentioned on December 7.
