Dancehall deejay Skillibeng celebrated his 25th birthday in a sentimental way by reflecting on his journey to stardom.

In an Instagram post yesterday, the Crocodile Teeth artist revealed the significance of his lucky number 23, and how it has magically synchronized with his career.

“23, a lot of e-syde fans probably don’t know why the number 23 is extra special to me, so I’ll let you know why,” he began for his over 608,000 followers “It isn’t just my birthday. At the age of 22 I recorded a song named (Feel Good) in that song I said, “just tun tweny tweny three, Hennessy it haffi beat, Mi busy a elevate, Mi an mi clothes them real, Mi just waa express how mi feel good!” The deejay continued.

He noted that once he turned 23 in 2019, his career just so happened to take off.

“Expecting that my life would start to elevate, Believing that it would and it did…A year later I turned 23 on December 23rd and songs like; Brick pan brick, Fifty bag, Etc… Started to fwd along, And my life changed forever!”

The entertainer whose given name is Emwah Warmington further noted that he has remained dedicated to his craft, but regardless of his notoriety, he still has a far way to go.

“Also celebrating the anniversary of my prodigy mixtapes today, I’m always working even on my birthday even on holidays…”

He added, “Thanking everyone who’s been on the journey with me. Esyde now and forever more!”

“Today I turn 25 years old, a quarter of a hundred percent. This also shows me how much work I have left to be done. This is the beginning of what is known as history. More proficiency on its way.”

Skillibeng grew up in the Lyssons district in Retreat, St Thomas, where he attended Morant Bay High. He was part of a dance group while in high school and was naturally drawn to entertainment.

In October, he released his Crocodile Teeth album which saw collaborations with Dancehall Queen Spice, Bobby Shmurda, Popcaan and Davianah (daughter of Tony Rebel).

Meanwhile, Skillibeng’s girlfriend and mother of their two-year-old son Emhal made several romantic posts of her beau to mark his birthday.

Twenty-year-old Taveionn Telfer made a timeline post to her Instagram page of the deejay in what appears to be a well-decorated room with balloons and rose petals, while Skillibeng held a cake resembling the cover art of his latest album.

She captioned the post, “happy birthday daddy 🤪❤️

Telfer also made a series of Instagram story posts which indicated that their two-month-old was christened recently.

The two could be seen clad in white, which is the traditional colour worn by parents for a child’s christening, in what appeared to be a church.
