Koffee Shares Video For ‘The Harder They Fall’: Watch

Jamaican sensation Koffee has just premiered the official music video for her song, ‘The Harder They Fall’ from the Netflix released movie of the same name. The song and video’s release comes by way of Geneva Club and Roc Nation Records on Koffee’s YouTube channel.

Directed by child. (Doja Cat’s “Woman,” Janelle Monae’s “Turntables”), the video is set against the backdrop of a deserted Western town inspired by the film, and opens with a scene of a horseback gang overtaking the town, layered under flickering close ups of characters: Cherokee Bill, Trudy Smith, and Rufus Buck.

The Spanish Town native’s familiar tone dominates the essence of each capture, while she’s styled in 2021 Bottega Veneta (a turquoise feathered, turtlenecked bodysuit).

“I’m very excited about this release,” Koffee said.

“Being a part of such a powerful project is an honor. We put a lot of work into bringing this song to life and I hope fans will be able to connect to all the special elements we’ve woven into the video.”

The British-Nigerian filmmaker Jeymes Samuel, who made his feature debut with the Netflix Western, co-wrote the motion picture with Boaz Yakin, has also produced Koffee’s record, and composed the lyrics with Jay-Z for the award-winning film’s soundtrack.

On the 24th of June this year, Netflix revealed the official trailer for the actionpacked western which included Barrington Levy’s 1985 hit song ‘Here I Come’. From then on the film’s anticipation rode high through to its Netflix and theatre premiere on November 3.

Levy scores twice on the soundtrack with another song “Better Than Gold”

Just yesterday, Jeymes, who is also known professionally as The Bullitts, won the first ever ‘Composer Of The Year’ award from Composer Magazine for the fourteen song soundtrack, which debuted on streaming platforms on October 29.

Other stars on the soundtrack include the iconic Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Ceelo Green, British star Seal, (Jeymes’ big brother) Jadakiss, and Jeymes himself comes in on track 13, with many others who all complete the impressive body of work.

The original motion picture score is set to release January 14.
