Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda wants to know why he’s criticized for his stage-whining antics while other entertainers, like Beenie Man and Chris Brown, get love for apparently doing the same.

It’s no secret that since his return, Shmurda’s dance moves have been harshly scrutinized. So much so, that when he appeared on a recent episode of the Off The Records Podcast, the host, DJ Akademiks, went straight to the matter by asking the Hot Ni–a rapper why he has been acting so “zesty” since his release from jail.

“Have you seen the people who try to criticize you like, ‘Yo Bobby’s dancing, that’s that jail sh-t… zesty’,” asked Akademiks as the 27-year-old rapper, who was seated across from him, lit up a joint.

Shmurda acknowledged that he had in fact seen the comments online and replied, “Yo we see all that sh-t, we be laughing at that sh-t”.

The host further added that a few people had also sent him videos of what they described as Shmurda “twerking” on stage; “They be sending me sh-t and be like ‘Naa he twerking right here’ … yo Bobby that’s what they saying, yo I’m telling you, they like ‘Yo Bobby is twerking right here’ and they were like ‘Jail changed him’.”

Unable to contain himself, Shmurda busted out laughing. Once composed, he attempted to explain that people, men especially, are simply jealous of his wining skills.

“You talking bout the ni–as …gotta be the ni–as. Aight so those be the ni–as that be like ‘This ni–a Bobby be taking up all the bitc–s son. This ni–a Bobby always fu-kin’ all the b-tches’.”

“I cant do that sh-t (wining). Ni–a (Bobby) out here making it hard for a ni–a. Now my bitc– ask me to wine,” Bobby said in reenacting an apparent hypothetical conversation.

The rapper, however, wanted to know why is it that he was being censured while other entertainers like R&B act Chris Brown and Dancehall star Beenie Man, who are known for their dancing during their live performances, weren’t dealt the same criticism.

“Why when Chris Brown whine they don’t say nothing? … Why when Beenie Man whine they don’t say nothing?” Bobby hollered.

Akademiks agreed that Bobby always had dance moves, which was what made him stood out from other rappers. “People neglect the fact that the reason they liked you was because you was dancing in the first place,” and jokingly remarked that the hate only came since Shmurda started removing his shirt to showoff his now buffed physique – watch the full interview below.

Shmurda, who was released from prison earlier this year, is gearing up to release his new album, according to HipHopDX. In the meantime he has been recently issuing out a steady flow of new tracks; his latest Splash dropped a week ago and another Cartier Lens released a week before. He released No Time For Sleep (Freestyle) in September.

The rapper was also featured on Skillibeng’s Crocodile Teeth album on the lead track Crocodile Teeth Remix that debuted on October 15.
