After fourteen successful years of recording Dancehall hits, Trelawny native, Charly Black released his debut album Rio Bueno today, November 12, in honor of his hometown, Rio Bueno.

The eleven track dancehall production comes courtesy of Universal Records with the familiar track You’re Perfect, released in 2017, and new high-energy hit, Gyal Extra Sexy.

“The album was supposed to be fifteen tracks, but I didn’t want to keep my fans waiting any longer. They wanted to add more collaborations, but that would not have made it in time for the release date. So I said to them, “Let’s move forward, no more waiting,” Black explained.

“Even a really great song I did with Shaggy, I wanted it on the album but the paperwork didn’t make it happen for the release date,” the singjay mentioned.

Black, whose real name is Desmond Méndez, eagerly counted down the days to his first-ever full-length project, and his loyal fanbase joined in on the action each day with numerous comments in anticipation of the long-awaited record.

The father of six is currently on a promotional tour and celebrated his debut album in New York city this week with an album release party.

On his Instagram today, the deejay wrote, “First and foremost thanks to GOD for life….MY ALBUM IS OUT NOW RIO BUENO, all my fans over the world, go stream my album and tag me let me know what’s your favorite song from it”

“Thanks to all the producers, @tjrecords @teflonzincfence @bigbonemusic @birchill @djtropical_ch17 @crawbagenius @teamunstoppableent @anthonyrecords @kennygraypme @zjdymond @uptopboss_official and everyone else who helped me to make this possible and big respect to my team.”

In 2019, Black’s biggest hit to date, Gyal You A Party Animal, recorded in 2014, was certified gold by the RIAA after selling 500,000 units in the US.  Since his first ever professional recording in 2014, the songwriter has enjoyed several radio bangers including, Whine & Kotch with the late J Capri, Tan Tuddy, Rich This Year, Buddy Buddy, Bubble Dung and Sidung.
