Dancehall Deejay KillFood Shot Dead In Westmoreland

Up and coming dancehall artist KillFood was shot and killed on Sunday morning by unknown assailants in Sheffield in Negril, Westmoreland.

The artist, whose real name is Courtney Simister of Orange Street in the parish, was reportedly gunned down while returning home after an illegal party in the parish.

Residents heard explosions about 3 o’clock in the morning and called the police.

Mr. Simister was found lying face down behind his car suffering from bullet wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Westmoreland-born deejay had been working on an EP prior to his death.

KillFood launched his recording career in 2019 with the release of a single titled Fat Forty on the YG Production label.

Some of his other songs are R.I.P, Normal Pree, Money Plan, Chappa Laws, and Kush.

Murders have continued to surge in Westmoreland with the latest fatality being that of According to statistics released by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, as of November 6th, there has been a 53.8 per cent increase in the number of murders committed in Westmoreland. There have been 100 murders committed in the parish compared to 65 murders committed for the corresponding period last year.
