Dancehall artist Skeng continues to dominate the YouTube Music Charts as the most-streamed Jamaican artist for the October 26 to November 1 tracking period.

Skeng racked up 1.48 million views that week with tracks such as Gvnman Shift, Heaven Passport with Intence, and Live Large. Following closely behind is Chronic Law with 1.4 million, the man himself, Alkaline with 1.23 million, and Masicka with 1.2 million.

In July, Skeng told the Jamaica STAR that he was eager to make an impact.

“It feels good, but I’m aiming for more. I want to make an impact on other youths like me,” he said. “Me mek mistakes in the past, and me believe that all of that clean up yah now. Cyaan really say what exactly, but I want to fully redeem myself, by showing I have a story and style that’s unique, and move forward to (the) future.”

“I think my voice is one reason persons should listen to me. What I’m bringing into the dancehall can change the game fully, because another one ah my purpose is to be great in the industry,” Skeng added.

This week, Gvnman Shift with its potent intro stands at No. 1. With over 8 million views since its August 23rd release, Gvnman Shift has worked its way into the hearts of many, even those who profess to abhor violence. Skeng’s unique flow has thrilled many to take on the challenge of reciting the lyrics in imitation of his seemingly calm aggression.

Skeng’s second entry which is currently second on the charts is Heaven Passport, a collaborative track with Yahoo Boyz singer Intence. This timely and cohesive collaboration is quickly becoming a fan favorite scoring 2 million views in two weeks. Since DJs have been having a field day turning patrons into a frenzy with both Yahoo Boyz and Gvnman Shift, it was only fitting to have the two on one track.

Produced by Ditruth Records and KD Music, Heaven Passport has Skeng and Intence exchanging lyrics, death threats and affirming their potency. Complimenting the lyrics is the dark and cryptic video, showcasing the famous scary mask from the Saw horror movie series.

Skeng’s last entry on the weekly charts is his motivational hit Live Large at No. 8. Showing his versatility, Skeng reaches for the stars with his team. Crooning the lyrics, “Wull team have e same dream but we no like fraud / Me no like fakeness dats y me stay far / N me house affi build dawg / N reach fi the stars / Ye the ratty a blue cheese / N ye we live large” Skeng speaks on his ambition and drive, while still giving us some bars that we must hit rewind on.

“A time fi me celebrate and levitate and elevate / N if dem try style we ting we just repatriate”.

Meanwhile, other tracks on the top 10 most streamed songs for this tracking period include Masicka’s recent release, Love Story. The song, which is from his anticipated album 438, debuts at No. 3 and already has fans riled up for the album while holding back their emotions.

Jashii’s 25/8 is at No. 4, Journey by 450 takes No. 5, and Masicka again on the charts with Update at No. 6.
