Reggae star Jah Cure will remain in custody until next Monday when he will appear again in the Council Chamber, part of the Amsterdam court to either take a plea deal or have a date set for trial, Franklin Wattimena, the press officer of the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service, confirmed to DancehallMag.

The entertainer, 43, whose real name is Siccature Alcock, has been detained in a Dutch jail for the past two weeks after an alleged stabbing incident in the Netherlands.

Reports are that Jah Cure allegedly stabbed 45-year-old concert promoter Nicardo ‘Papa’ Blake in the stomach on October 1, during an incident at Dam Square in the city centre of Amsterdam. He was arrested the following day in the city centre of Utrecht. He celebrated his 43rd birthday on October 11, while in custody.

In the meantime, using his Instagram account, Jah Cure has ‘bigged up’ Wyclef Jean for his public support which was displayed during the recent Verzuz ICONZ event, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York over the weekend. The event was headlined by iconic dancehall deejay Super Cat.

The Love Is singer wrote: “Big up @wyclefjean @versustv I love all my fans thank you for the support #wyclefjean #barclaycenter #jahcure #cureagain.”

Wyclef, who was the emcee for the highly anticipated Verzuz ICONZ event, paused during the event to send a prayer for his beleaguered musical brother.

“Look, I don’t know what’s going on, but I need to send a prayer to my brother that’s in Holland, in Amsterdam. Can you play something? DJ, send a note for my brother,” he asked. The Refugee Sound then spun Jah Cure’s hit tune, Never Find, which elicited roars of appeal from the Caribbean audience.

“If you love Jah Cure, hands in the air right now,” Wyclef said. The audience responded with raucous cheers.
