Dancehall singer Dexta Daps arrived in LA over the weekend for his VENT X Owna Experience concert at the Globe Theater.  But that wasn’t all on the agenda, as he was spotted linking up with Brooklyn drill rapper Bobby Shmurda just hours before the show and visiting Nipsey Hussle Mural in the Crenshaw area.

Daps and Shmurda apparently met up just a few yards from Hussle’s mural on Cloverdale Avenue, where they exchanged numbers.

The Dancehall star took to Instagram to share with fans, “We Outside Shmurding? @Itsbobbyshmurda Cali We Outside,” with a mini video of himself and the rapper. He also took a photo by the mural of Nipsey Hussle, which is also accompanied with portraits of Kobe Byrant, his daughter Gianna and Tupac Shakur.

In another post, Dexta shared a clip from his sizzling live performance on Sunday night. Along with performing some of his crowd-pleasing tracks like Breaking News, WIFI, and Owner, the deejay also brought out Reggae legend Louie Culture on stage for the remix of single Call Me If.

Meanwhile, Shmurda has certainly been making the rounds and meeting with a few Dancehall acts since his release from prison back in February. The Hot N*gga rapper was seen in the studio with Alkaline working on new music back in July. He also hit up Skillibeng and Popcaan prior in March. Come October 15, Shmurda will appear on the lead track of Skilllbeng’s upcoming album in the Crocodile Teeth Remix.

The New York rapper is gearing up to drop an album of his own. While he has already revealed a few high-profile collaborations with rappers Maino, Quavo, DaBaby, Lil Uzi Vert and 42 Dugg, it is safe to speculate that there may be some Dancehall features included.

Since his comeback, he has released the single No Time For Sleep in September.

Dexta’s VENT DELUXE version, the follow-up of his 2020 VENT album, was released on September 30 with new songs to extend the life of the original project. Fans got to see the visual for the album’s opener, I’m On My Way earlier this month on October 1.
