Chronic Law

Hillside singer Chronic Law is the most streamed Dancehall artist on YouTube in Jamaica over the last month and has been among the top 5 over the last year.

According to YouTube Music Charts and Insights, Chronic Law has received 5.47 million views for the past month, earning him the number one spot in Jamaica, followed by Alkaline with just over 5 million views and Vybz Kartel with 4.46 million views.

Though the Law Boss’ current releases may not include the typical summer songs, his collection of singles seems to be what’s being streamed by many Jamaicans. His recent releases of Nuh Trust Nobody, Believe in Yourself and Nuh Tell Me Nuttn are just a few of the singles that have earned him this feat.

Nuh Trust Nobody, which was released on May 21, has racked up 1.9 million views and is No. 12 for most-streamed songs in Jamaica over the past month, according to YouTube. Produced by Drop Top Records, Chronic Law declares that he’s ‘not going to trust nobody’ so easily. Reminiscent of his introverted ways, as was seen in his breakout single Hillside, Chronic Law continues to distance himself from the people ‘weh’ will hurt you.

“Mi nah trust nobody so easy / mi will hurt you if you hurt mi feelings / mi wi’ kill one a unnu and a real ting.”

Chronic Law also released Believe in Yourself on May 26 on Dynasty Records’ My Letter To You Riddim, which features other sensational singles such as Chosen by Rytikal and Rate Who Rate You by fellow 6ixBoss Squash.

Believe in Yourself is a soft reminder to Chronic Law himself and his fan base that we should all believe in ourselves. He smoothly sings and effortlessly flows while dropping bars that are also inspirational gems. “Want get high an’ a nuh drugs ting / mummy need sumn n a nuh dumplin hunting / youths want buss an’ a nuh gun ting”

“Love yourself, get your money and talk less… believe in yourself, enemy words nuh count a just money… if you believe the dream dawg, you must rich”

Released on July 9, Nuh Tell Me Nuttn has racked up close to a million views.  Chronic Law details several scenarios that have shaped him into who he is today as an artist. With Nuh Tell Me Nuttn, we have gotten an insight into the introverted singer’s life experiences and the lessons learned.  Whether it be the loss of a loved one, to be tossed into the back of a police van, or to have hustled for the support of his mom, these are just a few of the Hillside singer’s stories.

Chronic Law’s latest release is titled Fraud and a day after the release it has had already scored one hundred thousand views.
