Watch Shenseea Freestyle Over Skillibeng’s ‘Crocodile Teeth’ With Funkmaster Flex
Just call her Dancehall’s freestyle queen; Shenseea did it again as she flexed her wicked freestyle chops today, this time with DJ Funkmaster Flex on Hot97.
Flex, who often features rappers on the freestyle segment such as Lil Baby, Meek Mill, Da Baby, Tory Lanez, and Young M.A. to name a few, is no novice to witnessing a good rap flow. It was apparent he was pretty impressed with the Blessed singer’s tongue-slinging delivery. “You caught me off-guard a few times there,” he said after her raps and proceeded to salute the Shenyeng princes with a fist-bump, adding, “I see what it is.”
In one-take Shenseea slaughtered the Crocodile Teeth riddim, spitting some mind-blowing rhymes. Like forget about being the renowned ‘greatest of all time’, Shen says, “Mi nuh want be nuh G.O.A.T mi want be Billie (a billionaire) like Kylie,” as in Kylie Jenner who Forbes dubbed the world’s youngest ‘self-made’ billionaire.
She’s “Hot suh mi haffi get booked like library” and “Body thick but to how mi style so sick it can’t fix, even if mi take the vaccine”…“Mi a di full package, hotter than a fever, stove can’t even hold da heat yah.”
Determined to make history like the ‘Mona Lisa’, Shen continues, “Fly weh Paul fly weh Peter, I nuh need nuh distraction!”
As for the haters, “Mi nuh care if you don’t like me, the more you talk, you ah raise my fee.” And “True mi nuh have a man, dem wonder if mi in the closet, so mi left dem a wonder, you know, like Alice!” But in another verse, she just had to add a disclaimer that “Niggaz are dogs but my pu—y is gold, if he get that n-gga is a golden retriever.”
If you think she was done, the Lighter singer still had an unexpected trick up her sleeve when she started spitting lyrics in Spanish.
“Yeah man a Shenyeng, a di real caliente chica todo hombre quede la mamasita. Mi name Shenseea and its nice to meet ya!”
That was a wrap but not before reminding everyone that she’s simply the baddest, “Yo mi bad like Gaza and Gully, if you bloodcl–t run up you get tuck like tummy, yuh zeet.”
The Shenyengz are out in their numbers streaming Shenseea’s freestyle after the video was shared today.
“Damn. She absolutely destroyed that beat,” said one fan. Others couldn’t agree more, “She ate this damn freestyle 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” and “This was fire. She got bars.”
Another added, “Body Bags 🔥 🔥 🔥 Wow I wasn’t expecting this !!!!! She killed it !!! And the Beat was so Reg and she killed it !!!
Several, who caught on to some her swift lyrics, recited their favorite parts. The Kylie Jenner reference was a hit, “Don’t want to be goat, I wanna be Billie like Kylie” 🤯🤯,” and “Crazy Bars, Flex Yankee ass missed all of them especially the Goat/Billie bar🔥🔥🔥🔥.”
Another said, “The whole freestyle was crazy but that golden retriever bar was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” And others added, “🔥 booked like library, left him wondering like Alice!” and “Bruh she said run up you’ll get tucked like tummy 🤣.”
The Jamaican talent first grabbed global attention back in January when her freestyle on the Don’t Rush riddim went viral and earned her comparisons to rapper Nicki Minaj and a nod from American actress Taraji P. Henson. There was even buzz around the local scene that she was ready to take over the Queen of Dancehall throne as a result.
Shen again flexed her lyrical chops on the beat of Floridian trap rapper SpotemGottem’s Beat Box 2 track later that same month to garner much acclaim from fans. Then two months later she was recruited by the rapper himself to appear on the official remix for the song.
Fans can look forward to see what Shenseea will bring on her upcoming debut studio album when it finally arrives sometime this year. The Dancehall star said it will be a mixture of different flares to showcase her multitalented lyrical skillset.
