Dancehall all-rounder Demarco recently copped another accolade ahead of his anticipated debut album, this time in the capacity of producer. The Fix Things deejay took to Instagram to unveil the RIAA Certified Gold plaque for his work on Charly Black’s 2015 smash Gyal You A Party Animal.

Responsible for many of the ear candy instrumentals heard in modern dancehall (Side Walk University – Beyonce Wine (Kartel) Black Rain – Pon Di Edge (Busy Signal), Shoot Out Riddim – Shoot Out (Mykal Rose, also written by Demarco), Demarco was among rhythm masters Christopher Birch (Birchill Music) and DJ Kurt Riley (Techniques Records) who crafted Black’s dance floor anthem.

Gyal You A Party Animal was certified Gold by the RIAA on January 22, 2019 after selling 500,000 units in the US.

The single is now also Diamond Certified in Latin America, and Demarco appeared elated to be recognized for his role in the IG video clip yesterday. Released in 2014, the Jambe-An Riddim featured Khago as well as soca stars Shurwayne Winchester and Timeka Marshall, but Black’s slick and sensual flow made ‘Party Animal’ a standout hit.

Demarco sent the Trelawny titan a huge salute in his caption as he unwrapped what he hoped was the first of many mementos.
