In a new interview with National Geographic, Dancehall star Sean Paul dished about his love of Caribbean food, taking Rihanna for pan chicken during her visit to Jamaica, wanting to give Donald Trump a dose of culture with a plate of Jamaican curry goat, and more.

“I’d want Donald Trump to have more culture in his life, so I’d invite him and feed him curry goat, so that he’d stop being so ridiculously crazy,” the Temperature singer explained to the magazine for their summer 2021 issue of National Geographic Traveller Food.

Other dream dinner guests for the hitmaker include Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, “because it’d be good to have a businessperson,” and Paul’s late father, Garth Henriques.

In addition to recounting his experiences eating a cow’s heart, he hailed Trinidad as a breakfast food mecca.  He declared his love of pan chicken and revealed that he had given Rihanna her first taste of the Jamaican street food.

“I took Rihanna for pan chicken. It was one of the first times she ever ate something like that,” he recalled while adding that the dish is ‘amazing for soaking up alcohol.’

“The ‘pan’ is a makeshift barbecue made using a barrel that’s cut in half, with a grill inside and coals underneath. I have one outside. I guess the pan gives the chicken a charred taste. It’s usually served with a slice of hard dough bread and a little bit of ketchup and pepper sauce,” Sean explained.

Sean Paul and the pop star have had a long history. He was featured on her 2006 track, Break It Off off her second album, ‘A Girl Like Me’. In March 2020, he told Power 106 that Rihanna was one of the only international artists who has given Dancehall music the treatment it deserves.

Last year, it was reported that Rihanna was working on a Caribbean cookbook.  “In a conversation with Closer, the star mentioned that she will be sharing some of her favorite Caribbean recipes in the book,” according to HypeBae.  Maybe we’ll be seeing a Sean Paul-inspired pan chicken recipe.
