Members of the reggae and dancehall communities can participate in the celebration of life ceremony for Donald ‘Tixie’ Dixon which will be held on Sunday May 2nd at the Tabernacle Seventh-Day Adventist church, located at 8017 NorthEast 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL, 33138.

The funeral will observe COVID-19 protocols and will begin with the viewing of the body between 10 a.m to 10:45 a.m immediately after which the service will  commence at 11 a.m.

“Each attendee should check in at the sign in table. Temperature screening will be completed at the time of entry. While present, all participants must wear PPE (masks) until time to present and sit six feet apart. Bring water and hand sanitizer from home,” a representative of the family told Dancehall Mag.

All persons attending the funeral are being asked to wear masks over their noses and mouth at all times, and maintain social distancing inside the sanctuary. There will be no handshaking.

Tixie developed a tight bond with artistes while he worked as an engineer at Anchor Recording studios between 1995 to 2020.

He produced ‘What’s Up’ and ‘Legendary’ on Sizzla ‘s ‘Blaze Up The Chalwa’ album for Jet Star/Kings of Kings. He mixed Sizzla’s ‘The Messiah’ in 2013. He was the engineer and the mixing engineer on Lady G’s ‘Rated G’. He produced other Sizzla songs like ‘Love Being Together’ for his own True Love Records imprint. He did audio production on Sizzla’s Life in 2004, and mixed and did engineering work on Sizzla’s 2010 Crucial Times album.

Among his other projects, he was the vocal engineer on Junior Kelly’s Urban Poet in 2015, and did engineering work on Bunny Wailer’s ‘Communication’ for Solomonic.

What’s more, he was the engineer on Gun Shot (as Donald Tixie Dixon) which appeared on Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday (Roman Reloaded) album.

He also did engineering work on Mighty Diamonds* / Anthony B – Pass The Kutchie ‎(7″) and on Bounty Killer’s ‘The Best Of Bounty Killer’ ‎.
