Queen Ladi Gangsta and her new husband Duane “Dowey” Scarlet

London-based social media personality and Dancehall artist Queenie Ladi Gangsta has finally snagged herself a husband. She wedded aspiring deejay Duane “Dowey” Scarlet, on his birthday March 20 at Hellshire Beach in St. Catherine, Jamaica.

Queenie, 51, whose real name is Janese Espeut, and Dowey who is 20 years her junior provided a live broadcast of their wedding via her YouTube vlog channel where more than 12,000 viewers tuned in to watch.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon when Queenie arrived at the beach in a silver convertible Mercedes Benz. She wore an exquisite white mermaid sweep wedding dress and veil, designed by NashWear Clothing complete with a lovely calla lily hand-bouquet while being serenaded by her own Dancehall track, Ring.

The venue was filled with a mixture of a few invited guests, some lucky fans, and several beach visitors. Other than a premature “I will” from Scarlet three minutes into the ceremony, the rest was smooth sailing – the exchanging of vows and the rings, signing the marriage certificate with their witnesses, and of course the kiss.

All was normal up until their departure from the aisle when the new husband and wife broke out dancing, more so bumping and grinding on each other with some sporadic body smacks to Queenie’s breakout hit Double Tap.

The fan-favorite moment however was when Queenie began erratically running around the venue like a child would, to eventually throw herself on the ground and roll around in the sand.

“Jah know ah me favourite part ah d wedding dis 😂😂😂 happy fe d two ah u, jus gwaan live each day to fullest which I know u will and stop watch negative comments dem have dem big loaf and dem still jealous ova u slice, once again congrats to d two ah you 💚💛❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾,” said one Instagram follower.

Others chimed in, “Watch happiness,” and “its she being sooooooo happy for me.”

“She’s genuinely a happy wife 💍,” said anotehr.

One onlooker said, “I always say when I’m getting married I’m going to run down the aisle😂😂😂😂congratulations to both nothing but blessings and that God continue to bless your union❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏I just love to see love.”

The event sifted through a couple of activities, from taking pictures, the throwing of the bouquet, and one such one called “June Plum Time” where Queenie gathered herself by a little setup with a banner bearing the name “June Plum” while her newly released single June Plum boomed in the distance.

The song reveals she has found her June Plum now, this in reference to her new husband, Duane. The couple met less than a year ago thanks to some june plums, and have been inseparable since.

There’s no telling how many of Queenie’s industry friends were in attendance at the wedding, Dancehall singer, D’Angel however was certainly spotted.

She stopped to take photos and make videos with the “good gyal” new bride. D’Angel and Queenie recently linked up to release the official music video for the remix of their single Double Tap in December.

The Next Day…

Part 2 of Queenie and her “June Plum’s” wedding took place today Sunday, March 21: a reception in St. Thomas, Jamaica which sees her in a completely different wedding dress.

It was a more intimate gathering with close family and friends that prayed over the couple and shared their heartfelt wishes on their union.

Queenie performed a little singing of a more spiritual nature compared to her usual Dancehall tunes, crooning some gospel songs. Other performers added to the entertainment but nothing was more amusing than the happy couple gropingly dancing and sharing a lot of over-indulgent smooching.
