Intence, Govana Team Up For ‘Public Enemy No. 1’ Off Upcoming Mixtape: Watch

Dancehall dynamite Intence debuted the lead single and title track off his upcoming album Public Enemy No. 1 today with 4th Genna’s Govana.

The single’s accompanying music video has skyrocketed to the No. 1 trending spot on YouTube Jamaica within a few hours of its release.

For many fans, it may come as no surprise that the flagship track features Govana and would be the first to hit the airwaves. It was just a few weeks ago that the two deejays exchanged pleasantries online, which found Govana asking Intence for a “project” this year. It was then that the Antisocial artiste revealed that he in fact had something in the works.

Tashawn Gabbidon aka Intence officially announced the album’s forthcoming premiere along with the tracklist last month and now viewers get to see a preview of what’s inside and also a taste of what more is to come.

The single Public Enemy No. 1 is a conversational-style exchange between two deejays where Govana kicks off the intro to letter his advice and encouragement to Intence, who is depicted as an actual public enemy in society.

Govi pilots the hook, “Know a di rough times a go test yuh faith but don’t make the pressure make yuh break – public enemy no. 1 -ah di hate a go make yuh great, Never shake, never scared, mi sey never fraid, if dem violate den a hell a raise – public enemy no. 1 – ah di hate a go make yuh great.”

While Intence runs his listeners through all the hardships and criticism he has endured since his ‘2 years’ on the scene, the track is an unearthing of details not known to many.

From never graduating school, Intence also reveals that the 4th Genna clan was responsible for giving him his big break. The YengBadness deejay’s initiation on the track states, “Yeah man Govi Govi dawg, nuttn change you and ‘diddi (Aidonia) ah di first artiste fi eva put me pon a stage. Strike Force, 4thGenna to mi f—kn grave.”

Directed by Dezignr Studios and produced by Negus Multimedia, the music video is a simplistic production to focus on the acts and message of the song. The scenes split between the two Dancehall acts who are in separate quarters, carrying out their conversation via text messages on their phones.

The single Public Enemy No. 1 was produced by Zimi Entertainment, JOP and Crash Dummy Production. Public Enemy No. 1, the Mixtape is slated for official release on March 26.  Press play on the new visuals above.
