Is Buju Banton’s Daughter Abihail Myrie Dating ‘Power’ Actor Michael Rainey Jr.?
Abihail Myrie, the daughter of Reggae icon Buju Banton, might be dating American actor Michael Rainey Jr.
Added: Rainey, who is of Jamaican heritage on his mother’s side, is best known for his role as Tariq St. Patrick on the Starz hit TV series, Power, which is executive-produced by rapper 50 Cent.
It’s clear the two are close friends, made evident from their avid exchanges and light banter on social media, but the rumor mill seems to think that Abi and Michael are an item.
The now 21-year-old Jamaican model and creator of Abi’s Candles celebrated her birthday just a few days ago on February 28 and shared photos of the occasion on Instagram. Like any good friend would Michael, 20, acknowledged the Piscean’s earth strong as well, with a post of his own, which hinted that perhaps there is something more going on between the two.
On his IG stories, Rainey posted a cartoon image of what looks a lot like himself and Abi holding hands and heavily armed, mimicking somewhat of a Bonnie & Clyde vibe with a large purple heart perched beside them in the backdrop.
His caption simply read, “BRRP, Happy BDay @abihailmyrie,” but included a love-face emoji and red heart within the text.
Other posts on Abihail’s IG page show Rainey as a frequent visitor, where he’s often commented on her pics.
On one posted on January 16, they apparently had a night out. In the photo, Abi is wearing a green silk strappy-back dress, where Rainey commented asking, “Waiiiiitttt wasn’t I wit u dis day?,” and Abi responded, “ i think so was it this day? or the day after? 🤔.” But he cleared up her confusion, “@abihailmyrie I left da day after.” However, there’s no telling exactly when the photo was taken.

There is also another comment on a separate post from Abi, where Rainey refers to her as “Mrs. Rainey”.

It could be these two are just a little flirty.
Abihail isn’t known to be dating anyone nor is Michael. The Power actor was last reportedly dating 18-year-old Ugandan model Eva Apio in 2019.
