The popular nightclub brand, Taboo the Ultimate Adult Playground will open a new location in Miami next month.

The owner, Shemara Todd, posted a flyer with the Taboo logo with the words Miami emblazoned below it, along with the caption: “Loading…” on Instagram yesterday.  The Todds operate the ultra-successful Taboo nightclubs which have locations in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and St Andrew.

“We’re shooting for the end of March, we posted the logo alone and that sent people into a craze. People love Taboo,” a smiling Corey Todd told DancehallMag.

The response to Shemara’s post was immediate and exuberant.

Dancehall artiste Dy Dy, who is managed by Shemara Todd, responded: “dem dead!”. Another user added: ‘on my way…”.

Yet another user chimed in with : Mi ready but mi nuh ready … Bbccccc🔥🔥🙌🔥🔥, while another ecstatic fan exclaimed: 🔥🔥🔥🔥omgggggggggg y’all not  f—ng ready tho !!! I’m moving to Miami !!!!”

The COVID-19 pandemic has clamped down on operators of ‘go-go’ clubs in Jamaica. These clubs are establishments that provide valuable entertainment, but they have been left out of conversations about the fallout the entertainment sector has endured due to COVID-19.

Some nightclubs which have reopened have had to transform themselves into ‘sports bars’ to keep their businesses alive while others have resorted to operating in daylight hours with limited, exclusive clientele so they can continue to employ staff and dancers.

In the meantime, the entertainment scene has re-opened in the US and club owners have been following the various cities’ health guidelines, including temperature checks, providing sanitizing stations, and enforcing mask-wearing.
