Five years after his first album, Dancehall artist Alkaline is set to drop a new body of work come spring 2021 titled Top Prize. The artist’s sophomore album will feature 14 tracks which his management team said will further demonstrate Alkaline’s creativity, growth, and unforgettable presence as a lyricist.

In true Alkaline fashion, the 27-year-old has already made available the title track and lead single off the upcoming album, as he continues to work with and support both established and upcoming producers in the industry.  Listen to it below.

According to Alkaline, his upcoming album will showcase his mastery of the field at a time when innovation seems to be low. “This album is timely as with my experiences, the lessons learned and growth overtime, it is only fair that I bring everything full circle,” Alkaline told DancehallMag.

“All the detta fans who have been a part of the movement from day one will appreciate it and even those who have just come to realize the fact will enjoy it… It bad! Lol,” the deejay added.

Strategic in his mysterious persona, Alkaline has been spending his time outside of the spotlight writing new music and gearing up for the release of his new merchandise line.

“Alkaline offers various merch options to fans through his online retail store www.dettastore.com and he will be performing in Tampa, Florida on February 20th,” said Rickardo Shuzzr, Alkaline’s publicist.

“We encourage fans to purchase/stream the lead single Top Prize as we gear up for the album whilst checking out the variety of options from masks to t-shirts as they prepare to attend the concert,” added Shuzzr.

Shuzzur further notes that based on Alkaline’s track record, his latest project will undoubtedly receive the same level of success he is already known for, citing his 2020 visuals for Nah Fi Like, Ocean Wave, Cree, and Stalk Ashley’s Incognito which have amassed millions of views on YouTube, as well as, high chart placement.

Alkaline, whose real name is Earlan Bartley, released his debut album, New Level Unlocked in 2016, with DJ Frass Records.  The 15 track album topped the Billboard Reggae Albums chart with hit singles including Champion Boy and City.  It was one of the few Dancehall projects to score a No. 1 on the coveted Reggae chart over the last several years.
