If ever some persons needed some words of encouragement, it would be now in these trying times and reggae legend Beres Hammond has come forward with such a message.

Through his Instagram account yesterday, Uncle Beres, as he is fondly known, called for strength and positivity from his fans and indicated that he’s longing for their company.

He uploaded a video of himself performing his 1993 megahit Putting Up A Resistance onstage with the caption, “My family! This post serves as a reminder to you, stay strong, stay positive, never give in! I long to see all of you, until then keep putting up that resistance! Love you my FAMILY”.

His message comes at a time when the Coronavirus pandemic has limited interactions in a major way worldwide and a lot of people have lost love ones and livelihoods. Entertainment has been no exception, with most artists limited to mostly virtual interactions.

Since the post, fans have been commenting, and have assured the acclaimed artiste that they missed him too.

Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage simply commented “YES SAH.”

Sevengoddess777 commented “I love you Beres Hammond I pray you & the family are in great health & safe can’t wait to see you live once this (up hill battle) is over. Another, islandgyal876, commented “One of thee best to ever do it. Love you Beres Hammond can’t wait for us to all gather and have a good time”.

Like most artistes, Beres Hammond has been feeling the pangs of the pandemic, especially with the inability to perform and interact with fans. Considered a legend in his own right, Beres is also known worldwide for hits such as Tempted to Touch, Double Trouble, and Rock Away.

It’s uncertain when things will improve but it is expected that Beres Hammond will be one of the most in-demand acts when restrictions are lifted.
