Dancehall artiste Charly Black is a proud man after his daughter Alicia Mendez did amazingly well on her recent CSEC examinations.

Apparently, in a celebratory mood, the Trelawny native posted her scores on his Instagram account, which showed the young lady coming through quite well, scoring seven ones (1) and two twos in the nine subjects she undertook in July and August.

She took home Grade ones in Mathematics, English, Information Technology, Electronic Document Preparation, Office Administration, Principles of Accounts, and Principles of Business. She got the twos in Human and Social Biology and Social Studies.

A beaming Charly Black wrote below the post “Keep up the great work Alicia I love you (heart emoji) #prouddad #lifestillakeep #cxcresults in relation to the Holland High school standout.

Since then, the well wishes have been flooding in with reggae crooner Romain Virgo applauding her effort and telling Charly “Love this bro!!!”. Tifa commented with some trophy emojis, and Desha Ravers remarked “WOW” along with some applauding emojis.

For a lot of parents, great CSEC results are some of their proudest moments, and it’s certain that Life Still a Keep singer is extremely proud of his daughter’s accomplishments.

It’s uncertain what her next steps will be but with scores like this, she should find it easy to attend a variety of tertiary institutions across Jamaica.

A number of students across the Caribbean have been calling out CXC due to issues with their scores, but for young Alicia, she too, like her father, must be feeling quite elated at these scores. Unconfirmed reports suggests that she may be one of the top-performing students coming out of Trelawny in the recent examinations.

Charly Black had risen to fame initially as a sound system selector on Bass Odyssey. He is best known for his track Gyal You a Party Animal.
