Grammy kid Koffee has inked a deal with payment pioneers Mastercard and is now their official brand ambassador in Jamaica.

The exclusive partnership is also the first such appointment in the region, adding to Koffee’s already impressive list of 2020 feats. After becoming the youngest Reggae Grammy winner in February, Koffee smashed Youtube records racking up over 1 million views in under 48 hours with the summer banger Lockdown. The rising star has now scored yet another ‘W’, securing the lucrative deal as the pandemic continues to damper the entertainment sector.

Announced yesterday, the marketing campaign featuring Koffee will build awareness about digital payments and will be unveiled in the coming weeks. The lyrical hitmaker whose delivery is both unique and refreshing will be educating customers and merchants about the convenience, safety and wide acceptance of Mastercard’s electronic payment options. It’s an important mandate the pint sized singjay and her team have already embraced. “I am very excited to be a part of Mastercard’s initiative to educate, increase financial literacy and help Jamaicans reach their financial goal,” said Koffee.

Acknowledging Koffee’s moving cadence and knack for conveying wholesome messages to the masses, Koffee’s manager Tammi Chang was also enthused about the collaboration. “It can be hard, especially in these times, to get one’s finances together. With Koffee being the ambassador of Mastercard, it will bring awareness to her peers that being financially responsible will contribute toward establishing the life they want. This will bring about many benefits for generations to come,” she said.

Mastercard’s head of marketing and communications for the Caribbean, Marcus Carmo, said “Koffee is one of Jamaica’s youngest and most gifted musical talents and she remains grounded, humble and finds time to give back to the community. The decision to partner with her was an easy one for us here at Mastercard as her authenticity, creativity and spirit of philanthropy are aligned with our own values.”

Dalton Fowles, country manager of Mastercard in Jamaica & T&T was equally ecstatic as he expressed similar sentiments. “We are thrilled to have Koffee joining us – as a consumer and our brand ambassador – to experience all the security and convenience of our payment products and services. We are excited about this partnership and new opportunity to create priceless experiences and digital empowerment for our Jamaican cardholders”.

Kudos to the crafty reggae crooner from the DancehallMag team on another well deserved ‘W’.
