American rapper, songwriter, and actor Dave East is heading to Jamaica within the next ten days, and fans are speculating it’s for a video shoot with Dancehall superstar Popcaan.

East, in an Instagram post yesterday, is seen undergoing a test for the novel coronavirus. The caption read, “They Said I Can’t Go To 🇯🇲 Without Being Tested. So Here We Go.”

Jamaica now requires proof of a negative COVID-19 test for all travelers over the age of 12, who are coming from the United States. The test must be taken within ten days prior to the visitor’s arrival on the island.

Additionally, travelers who are not staying in the tourism corridor, will have to self-quarantine for a period of 14 days. The tourism corridor extends along the north coast from Negril in Westmoreland to Port Antonio in Portal, and on the South Coast from Milk River in Clarendon to Negril in Westmoreland.

The corridor does not include Popcaan’s home parish of St. Thomas.

Among those who responded to East’s post was the Unruly Boss with the comment, “bomboclaat” followed by laughing emojis.

While the reason for the rapper’s visit is still unknown, fans are speculating that it has to do with his recent collaboration with the Jamaican dancehall artiste.  Unruly is one of the tracks featured on Dave East’s third mixtape installment Karma 3, which was released on August 13th, 2020.

“Ohh the visual coming I see,” stated one follower. “@popcaanmusic you and East making the video it seems” was another comment.

“@popcaanmusic unruly video coming up!” another fan wrote.

“Murder, murder, Unruly, Bomboclat dem DNA Ayy, Dave East, what dem a do, mon?” were the words of Popcaan on the intro of Unruly, which appeared at No. 2 on the 15-track mixtape.

Dave East, whose given name is David Lawrence Brewster Jr., gained traction in 2014 upon the release of his eighth mixtape Black Rose

Karma 3 has collaborations from other heavyweights such as Trey Songz, Mary J.Blige, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Young Dolph. The prior installments were released in 2017 and 2018, respectively. This latest offering, “Karma 3,” is dedicated to East’s close friend and fellow rapper Kiing Shooter, who it is allegedly passed away following complications with the coronavirus in May of this year.

On the other hand, the Family singer released his new album, FIXTAPE, on August 6th, and it has been at the top position on numerous charts since. The collaboration with East further increases his impressive catalog and efforts to further break onto the US market.
