A video posted by pop queen Madonna dancing up a storm in Hanover, Jamaica, to a slew of Dancehall songs, including Vybz Kartel’s gold-certified Fever and Spice’s So Mi Like It, is clear indication that the American songstress was having a grand time on the island.

On Tuesday morning, the Material Girl posted a video on her social media pages, which she captioned “The Birthday Party Continues in Jamaica”, which leaves no question that her boyfriend Ahlamalik Williams, her team of dancers and her children, were, or are now Vybz Kartel fans.

Madonna, in her typical energetic fashion, along with Diplo of Major Lazer, her lead dancer Loic Mabanza, and other members of her dance team; her children and Williams, danced to Fever, at what was a second night of revelry at her villa at the luxurious Tryall Club in Sandy Bay.

Madonna’s video of the party session started out with Bunny Wailer’s Cool Runnings being played in the background, following which she is shown rocking to a reggae instrumental along with her adopted twin daughters, and then doing a routine, singing and fanning themselves.

It was after that part that the dancing and prancing started. Madonna’s first choice of songs was Tony Matterhorn’s Goodas Fi Dem, which saw her and Williams, who is himself a dancer, twisting and turning dancing in wild abandon.

It was the sound of Spice’s voice on her hit tune So Mi Like It, which appeared to have unleashed Madonna’s dancing energy as she did in her heydays, as she immediately started flashing her head wildly, gyrating and twerking, perhaps an indication that her foot which she said a few days ago had been injured was a whole lot better.

The video, which up to midday attracted more than 1.1 million views, did not escape the attention of the Queen of Dancehall herself.   Spice reposted a 10-second clip excerpt of Madonna “wukking up herself” to her song, on her Instagram page, and captioned it: “@madonna is in Jamaica.  Yes a so mi like it” DROP YOUR BEST CAPTION  #Somilikeit.

Many of Spice’s fans, though, appeared oblivious to who Madonna was.  The others who did acknowledged what they said was the greatness of the megastar, who perhaps unknowingly, has really honoured Spice, dancehall music and Jamaica, by choosing to show the world herself dancing to music from the genre on her platforms.

“Dance move aside; Unu realize how epic this is. I mean dancehall been the hit genre for a while … but Madonna in Jamaica dancing to Spice.   That is 335 million albums and singles sold showing just how much she ‘like it’. #globalspice” raul_blaze said.

Echoing the same sentiments was dhk_shortmanuk who, said Madonna’s actions were no ordinary matter and should not be scoffed at.

“This is jokes; BUT we must remember, this is a MEGA STAR dancing to DANCEHALL. Big up urself @spiceofficial,” he said.

Another fan, sweetnessbuck, took time to admonish those who were laughing at Madonna’s erratic moves to Spice’s song.

“People forget Madonna is up in age now but about 10 years ago she could dance circles around these nowadays girl,” she said.

Others said maybe Madonna, who last year released the reggae song titled Future, was indirectly indicating to Spice that she wanted to do a collaboration.

“She showing you she ready for a collab!!!” deityfon said while deejay_worlhed quipped: “So she like. @spiceofficial is her favorite dancehall artist it seems.”

Towards the middle of Madonna’s video, as the infectious beat of Weh di Time, the 2005 hit by Voicemail, which featured Bogle and Delly Ranks permeated the air, the Take a Bow star and her crew let loose, dancing like there was no tomorrow.

She ended the video showing scenes of fire dancing performances by Jamaican performers, before she blew out her candle with her daughter Lourdes who popped a kiss on her forehead.

Madonna had staged her 62nd birthday party, on Sunday night at the world-famous resort in what was a full cultural showcase, with live performers including reggae crooner Jesse Royal.

The Papa Don’t Preach artiste has been bragging about the grand time she had at the prestigious property, which has been the haunt of the world’s rich and famous for more than 60 years, in a series of video clips and photos.
