Reggae singer Gyptian went on an expletive-laden rant against his an ex-girlfriend, who he identified only as Danielle in a social media video a few days ago.

The Hold You singer seemed to be in high spirits, on Sunday, as he opened the video saying that he knows he’s not as good looking or “hotter than nobody,” but that he had a message for his ex-girlfriends, in particular one named ‘Danielle.’

“Tell me ex them fuh low me, uno nuh need fi hear dis, but yo dem f–k everybody else,” he said.

Gyptian, whose real name is Windel Beneto Edwards, added that the person he was talking about wasn’t even a real ex. “Dem nuh even me ex, me used to f–k dem,” he said.

He then got more specific about why he was so upset, sending the video directly to his ex-girlfriend Danielle who he accused of harassing him and his child’s mother.

“Why dem a fatigue me?  Why dem a fatigue me baby madda dem? Hmm?”

“Tell big p—– idiot Danielle for low me,” he added before explaining that it has been two years since he left her.

“Why yuh ah call me baby madda dem fa, Danielle?  Yuh f— everybody. Wha yuh a deal wid?”

Gyptian has worked hard to keep his private life quiet, so this outburst is quite unlike him as one fan asked, “Gyptian this fi true???? Then a which Danielle him a talk DI?”

“Thought Rasta deal with love why him a throw so much words SMH,” said one critic of the minute-long rant. “How yuh mean…rasta still nuh human being? Him gone to the extreme wid cuss but him have feelings like anybody else,” countered a fan of the singer.

In 2017, the Serious Times artiste’s love life made headlines after photos surfaced of him with a longtime girlfriend. Many social media users quickly accused the former VP Records artist of being a sellout, as the woman was caucasian.

While that story was making the rounds on social media, another woman who was never identified, allegedly stepped forward, claiming she was also in a relationship with Gyptian.

At that time sources close to Gyptian reportedly disclosed that he: “doesn’t care about what the haters have to say because he’s truly happy and in love.” Another source was quoted as saying: “Gyptian could care less, critics can say whatever they like. The man is happily in love with his woman. The artist good. He does not care what the haters have to say. He is truly in love and happy with his partner.”

His single Hold You peaked at No. 77 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2010 and was the best selling reggae song for nine weeks in a row. The singer’s third album, Hold You, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart. Sex, Love & Reggae, released in 2013, entered that album chart at No. 1.

In 2017, he also severed ties with his label, VP Records, citing contractual disagreements. He started his own label, Ryte Dyrekshan Records, and said, “It’s time I get back to doing what I love, which is making music, and time for my fans to hear from me again so I can get in the road and see them. They’ve been asking and begging for new music, time to make that happen.”

He has released a few singles since the start of the year including, Disappear with Troublemekka yesterday, Something Special, Finally, and The Best.
