Kevy The Artist

With his soulful melodic sounds and lyrical prowess, Keivanni ‘Kevy The Artist’ Ewers is expecting that his uniqueness and a track record of his work ethic will not just help him build his musical empire but open doors to more collaborations with artists who share his passion.

Having done a collaboration with the iconic Shaggy called Even A Gangster falls in Love, on the Gussie Clarke EPX, Kevy said there are a few upcoming local artistes and few Drill rappers in the U.K that he will be working with in the near future.

“If I could choose any three Artiste to collab with at the moment it would be, Damian Marley, Chance the rapper and Lauren Hill… I don’t like putting myself in a box, but I would say my specialty is Reggae and Dancehall. I like using words in a lyrical way and I like melody and a soulful type of sound too”

The upcoming Artiste said he has always had a love for music, but it was a friend in University that prompted him to start recording and taking seriously the music industry.

“My friend at the time, Coshaun Evans, had a recording of himself rapping and it blew me away… From there I was like alright let me start recording too… I’ve worked with the likes of Gussie Clarke at the Anchor Record label…However most of my recent projects have been solo projects, but let’s see where life goes. The universe will always show us where to remain or where next to go”

His latest Single To the Moon, captures the Artist’s soulfulness and natural expressive abilities. However, he says his uniqueness is much more than what you hear.

“Finding myself is one of the greatest accomplishments to date and you may hear a mixture of confidence and humility in my songs. Some people think I would be some arrogant or cocky person but when you reason with me is a whole other vibe. I think everybody is unique though. And a hold dem own space in the universe”

Formerly of the group Accapella boyz, Kevy has had done quite a few performances locally and anticipates more after the COVID ban on entertainment is officially lifted.

“My first show was held in Mandeville, Jamaica by Monique Ingram’s Awthentik Expressions…That was the first time I heard people sing my lyrics word for word. That stood out to me the most. The first time you hear people a sing your song is Craaazzzzy”
