Skillibeng Shares Inspiration From His Mom In New Single ‘Torpedo’: Listen
The confident and talented Skillibeng may just have revealed the source of his inspiration. The dancehall artiste debuted his new single Torpedo today, bragging of his greatness with snippets of what sounds like encouragement from his mother.
The Lonedon Entertainment produced single is now streaming on SkillibengOfficial YouTube page courtesy of EastSyde Records. The intro of the single plays a voice note of someone identifying herself as the dancehall artiste’s mother. Like the recording of a voicemail, his mother tells him there are envious people around that see how great he is and fear it, even though he might not see it himself.
The deejay goes on to dish out his invincible rhymes, “Song a blast like torpedo, mi flow dem a soar like Magneto, suh mi nu watch people manipulate evil. By doing good, am here for a reason,” he sings.
With the complements of some life lessons, he says material things (including weed aka marijuana) will all fade away eventually, and “sometimes things last longer than a heart, mek hay while the sun shine and breeze blow.”
The artiste that we have come to know as Skillibeng affirms his clout saying he always does his best, and his best is legendary. Before he leaves this world, he has to score big ‘like Balotelli,’ the renowned Italian footballer.
There is another note from his mother, “…badmind worser than obeah, so you haffi keep yuhself clean at all times and pray. More time yuh haffi put dung the weed and guh pon some different meds, some clear head meds suh yuh can see clear,” she says.
