Dre Island Drops Debut Album, ‘Now I Rise’

Reggae entertainer Dre Island has released his debut album, Now I Rise, featuring renowned names in Reggae and Dancehall. The album premiere was announced through the artiste’s Instagram page two days ago.

Now I Rise” is a 13-track album released under the Dre Island Music, Kingston Hills Entertainment, and DubShot Records labels. Dre Island’s unmistakable vocals carries the listener through this debut album filled with a masterful variety of conscious, uplifting, and ladies tunes.

Making his mark with a stellar premiere album, Dre Island’s “Now I Rise” boasts production credits from popular Dancehall and Reggae producers like Anju Blaxx, Jam2, Teetimus, and Dunwell.

dreislandThe 52-minute album also includes features from popular entertainers Chronixx, Jesse Royal, Alandon, and renowned Dancehall artiste Popcaan, with whom Dre Island collaborated to produce the 2017 hit “We Pray” – also on his new album.

Dre Island has been a steadily rising name in the local and international Reggae industry since 2015. He is best known for the hits “We Pray” and “Be Okay,” which features Jesse Royal.

In speaking to the Jamaica Observer in April, the entertainer described his debut album as a timely representation of an “emergence from the ashes,” and one that speaks of new beginnings and growth. “Now I Rise” was conceptualized in 2015; however, Dre Island expressed that he felt divinely inspired to release the album five years later.
